TEKS

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

Teks or teks game cards – texted game cards – Filipino children collect these playing cards which contain comic strips and texts placed within speech balloons. They are played by tossing them to the air until the cards hit the ground (remember the words – …tsaa!!! tsub!!!). The cards are flipped upwards through the air using the thumb and the forefinger which creates a snapping sound as the nail of the thumb hits the surface of the card. The winner or gainer collect the other players’ card depending on how the cards are laid out upon hitting or landing on the ground. I was crazy about this game when I was around 3rd and 4th grade. I spent my waking hours playing with neigbors. At times the game tends to be intense and so many cards change hands so we just measure them by their height since it will take the whole day counting them. I just realized when I was checking my “baul” that I was able to complete the entire story of KingKong (1976) with these cards. These cards are so rare and I pretty sure that I am among the very few that have the entire story.

Now, will I post this on E-bay :) .

MS. E – 2ND MARATHON BOUDOIR SHOOT

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

She is exuberant upon entering the room. Her abs, legs and arms are toned, I am sure the product of pole dancing. She came prepared with lots of attire to choose from. I myself had a difficult time choosing. She is a natural in front of the camera which results to this very expressive pictures.

NICK & GLOVIE WEDDING

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Preparation: Sofitel
Church: Shrine of Jesus
Reception: Dragon Gate

We have started offering our video since 2007 and we have quite booked a decent number of clients. As we said before, we are mainly photographers but started to provide additional service as an alternative to other mainstream videographers. Videographers like Jason Magbanua, Threelogy, Bob Nicolas are very close friends and served as an inspiration to us to come up with this. Again, this offer is just to complement our photography and offered to those who opt to talk to just one person for both photo and video services. It is not just a make-do video but we assure you that we are as good as the rest and only requires a little dent on your wallet.

Here is one of our products. This impressed lots of our Chinoy friends during Nick and Glovie’s wedding last December 13, 2009. The prenup provided an awesome preview to the wedding onsite.

Enjoy.

FOR BRIDES: ARE YOU REALLY PREPARED?

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

We have covered countless wedding preparations and aside from the mandatory pictures of the bridal accessories, one of the most important shoots would be the bridal pictorial. Most of the time, the bride would be wearing the hotel robe. Others decide to buy their own satin robes or their own summer dress. I thought all of these are quite interesting until last Saturday.

Pola was wearing a robe and I thought it will be the usual and typical bridal pictorial. Quite surprised when she revealed the dress underneath the robe. The garment was more of a night dress, white, very light and relaxing. As you know, we are very used to boudoir shots and I thought we can apply some to this coverage.

The result was very interesting. The pictures are not overboard but clearly exudes sensuality. I just thought that shouldn’t brides pictorial be like this. You are getting married and taking a great leap forward. Shouldn’t the pictorial be more daring. You are getting married maybe once in your lifetime, shouldn’t you try to be more daring this time?

NICK & GLOVIE PRENUP

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

This is the wedding that was supposed to be held during Typhoon Ondoy. Finally, after two weeks it pushed thru and we had a grand time in Subic. The nice thing about a prenup in Subic are the numerous things to do. We went to Tree Top for adventure, the lake for some picnic shots, the Zoobic for some safari shots and Anvaya Cove for the mandatory beach shots. It took us the entire day to finish the shoot but it was well worth it.

Here are some samples from the hundred photographs we took.

I AM A FILIPINO

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

Here I am again joining the throngs of Filipinos paying their last respect to a great leader, former president Corazon Cojuangco Aquino. It was 23 years ago when even a greater number of people converge in the streets of Manila and followed for more than 10 hours the cortege of fallen Senator Benigno S. Aquino. Déjà vu’ of some sort, the Filipinos again are united joining a funeral march. However, this time it is an outpouring of love and devotion to a housewife that was catapulted to the Presidency. Back in 1983, it was outraged to the dastardly assassination of Ninoy and the impatience to the long time tenants of Malacanan. Then and now, the reasons for being here might be different but Filipinos from all walks of life are once more united. Again, everybody seems to be proud to be Filipinos and wearing their hearts on their sleeves. Showing to the rest of the world that Filipinos are great and worth dying for.

But what will happen once Cory is laid to rest? What will be our feeling tomorrow? Do we still have the same nationalistic flame burning a week after? Do we really need somebody to die first before we again become a proud nation?

It is my fervent wish that this feeling will never subside. I love the feeling of being proud of one’s heritage. I might have been teenager then during Edsa 1 but my feelings never aged. I never thought that the same fervor will be rekindled again. And frankly, I don’t want to lose it ever.

As Cory’s cortege passes, it is my solemn vow that I myself will ensure to keep the flame burning. That Filipinos are a proud people. That never again we will lose our identity.

I am a Filipino and damn proud of it.

CORAZON C. AQUINO (1933 – 2009)

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

These shots were taken during Migoy and Hestia’s Wedding. It was January 19, 2008, six days before her 75th birthday and 3 months before being diagnosed with colon cancer. Though the weight was definitely a giveaway that there was something wrong, I did not find her ailing at all. I don’t know her personally but she still has the “magic” that I first saw when I attended her miting de avance during the snap elections. From the start she was a symbol of strength from the time she braved the rains during the long funeral march of her husband and the frequent rallies in Makati and throughout the country. She unified the Filipino people during the darkest and most trying times in our history. She made us a proud people when she impressed the US Congress during her speech. She showed us how to be a true leader and how not to be intoxicated with power.

I will miss you.

The Filipino people will definitely be eternally greatfull to have a President like you.

Goodbye Madamme President.

JASON & EILEEN WEDDING ARTBOOK

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Done in one of the most popular venues for weddings, Fernbrook Gardens. The layout have undergone so many revisions but finally it’s done. I am pretty proud of this. I personally love the clean layout despite the requirement of putting in so many images.

Hope you like it too.
